John S. Troy, Principal Landscape Architect, FASLA

entry1Education and Experience

John received his B.A. in Biology with a minor in Fine Arts from Case Western Reserve University, and a Masters of Landscape Architecture from the University of Michigan. During graduate school he had summer internships in Kalamazoo, MI and Jacksonville, FL. After graduating, he worked for 2 years in Phoenix, AZ before taking a teaching position as an associate professor at West Virginia University. During his 6 years at WVU, he enjoyed teaching history of landscape architecture, introductory design and site construction. In 1980 he received an Outstanding Educator award from the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture. Since 1981, John has been practicing landscape architecture in the San Antonio, Texas region as well as Mexico and England with an emphasis on residential garden design, receiving recognition with many design and community service awards.
